Day 1 Itinerary
Launceston to krakani lumi - Mountain and inland journey
Arrive Tasmanian Elders Centre in Launceston at 0800
Enjoy a cuppa with Aunty Sharron while preparing your overnight walking kits.
0900 Enjoy a scenic drive (on the AAT Kings coach with one of our Aboriginal Guides) from Launceston while learning about the Aboriginal and European history of the district.
The cultural walk begins at the base of Mt William in wukalina/Mt William National Park.    Picnic lunch at the Summit (1300)
After walking the track from Mt William arrive at the purpose-built base camp (krakani lumi) at Cobler Rocks.
A traditionally inspired seafood dinner will be served.

Day 2 Itinerary
0900 After breakfast, guests will be guided along a traditional coastal pathway, which includes significant Aboriginal middens. Interpretation will focus on learning about traditional food sources, medicines and native animals.
1200 Lunch will be served, then you will be driven (1300) around to the - Aboriginal held - Bay of Fires site - larapuna (arrive 1400) where you will stay in the meticulously renovated Lighthouse Keepers Cottage. After you arrive you will enjoy a guided walk around the bays and inlets and a tour up inside the lighthouse itself.
A BBQ dinner of wallaby and lamb will be served followed by Aunty Gloria’s doughboys.            After which you can retire to your hotel style accommodation (shared bathrooms)

Day 3 itinerary
In the morning enjoy participating in cultural activities such as kelp basket making.
1115 Our inspired trek comes to an end today as we reboard the coach bound for Freycinet.


GROUP 2 – Max 10 pax
Day 1 Itinerary

After a walk back down to the base of Mt William and a transfer to the Aboriginal held Bay of Fires site - larapuna, (arrive 1400) where you will stay in the meticulously renovated Lighthouse Keepers Cottage, you will enjoy a guided walk around the bays and inlets and a tour up inside the lighthouse itself.

0900 After breakfast and a transfer to the start of a traditional coastal pathway, you will enjoy a guided walk to the purpose-built base camp (krakani lumi) at Cobler Rocks, viewing significant Aboriginal middens and enjoying interpretation focusing on traditional food sources, medicines and native animals.
1200 Lunch at krakani lumi
Tonight a traditionally inspired seafood dinner will be served.

Day 3 itinerary
0700 Walk the track from krakani lumi to the base of Mt William before being collected for your transfer to Freycinet at 1030

NOTES;

  *   On Day 1 the group of up to 20 pax - plus our own guests if you don’t have 20 pax - transfer together from Launceston to the base of Mt William on day 1 (your guests are via the AAT Kings coach with one of our Aboriginal Guides and our guests are on our own coach or 4wd)
  *   Both of your group walk to the Summit and have a picnic lunch there
  *   After they come back down from the summit Group 1 continues on with our other guests – if there are any – to walk the track into the krakani lumi campsite, meanwhile Group 2 gets driven around to larapuna and does the lighthouse/larapuna tour – staying there the night
  *   So………… up to 10 AAT guests staying at krakani lumi and up to 10 at larapuna both nights
  *   On Day 2 Group 1 does the coastal pathway walk to the midden, has lunch at krakani lumi, then gets driven around to larapuna – does the lighthouse tour/ larapuna guided walk, then stays the night – meanwhile Group 2 gets driven to the start of the midden coastal pathway further west of the standing camp and walk into krakani lumi and stays there the night
  *   On Day 3 Group 1 gets picked up from the lighthouse at 11.15am ready to transfer to Freycinet
  *   Group 2 walks from krakani lumi to the base of Mt William and gets picked up there at 10.30am ready to transfer to Freycinet via the lighthouse to get Group 1
